Dedication to Special Education is the "PTA" for special ed in Marin County, California. Our mission is to improve the quality of special education opportunities for students while connecting families for a stronger community. Ours is truly a community partnership, where parents, educators, and the wider community work together on behalf of the 4000 special education students in Marin.
We work in partnership with the Marin County Office of Education, and each year we raise about $150,000 for our programs: Grants to classrooms/schools; The Technology Resource Center; and Teacher Training. Our executive board consists of roughly 12 parents, and we support a much wider circle of volunteers and parents, connecting to make a difference for the kids.
Here you will find people who have blazed the trails of raising and educating a child with challenges. Join us, and you may find yourself developing some of the most meaningful friendships you'll ever have.

It was 2001 when we opened the doors of the Technology Resource Center, and we haven't looked back. This spring we are partnering with the TRC to boost it into the future. Look for an invitatioin to join us this spring to celebrate this undertaking and show off what's new.
We are deeply saddened to lose Solana Henneberry to cancer. We are offering friends an opportunity to contribute to an inscription in our water sculpture "Community" at the Village at Corte Madera.
We invite you to become part of our vibrant community, and offer many opportunities to engage with other parents and educators, as we support each other in improving special education in Marin.
